The establishment of the Lions Village Retirement Cottages in 1998 marked an important milestone in providing independent living options for seniors within The Old People’s Home community. The Lions Village Retirement Cottages were initiated in 1998 with the construction of the first eight cottages. Recognising the growing demand for independent living options for seniors, the facility expanded further in 2006 with the addition of eleven more cottages.

Each cottage is designed to provide comfortable and spacious living accommodations for residents. The cottages typically feature two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, an open-plan lounge, and kitchen area, as well as a single garage. These features offer residents privacy, convenience, and the opportunity to maintain a sense of autonomy while still being part of a supportive community.

Life Rights Occupancy

Residents of the Lions Village Retirement Cottages occupy their homes under a Life Rights arrangement.
